Our Accompanist -
Lucy Flint started the piano at the age of five. She studied French and Music at Bristol University and then Composition at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon, France. Being able to play the piano is always useful whatever one's main activity as a musician is, and Lucy is very happy to be able to accompany the Liss Community Choir.
Our Conductor -
Also known as Margaret Humphrey Clark, Margaret has been a singing teacher for many years, teaching at Eton College, St Paul’s Girls’ School, Uppingham and Oundle Schools, Christ’s Hospital and Cambridge and Surrey Universities. She is currently a professor of singing at the Guildhall School of Music and and Drama, London.
Her interest in choral singing began when she was a teenager and sang in many small groups. She then trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and subsequently in Paris, specialising in French song. She had a varied career of ensemble singing in groups such as the Purcell consort of Voices, the John Alldis Choir, the Monteverdi Choir and as an ad hoc member of the BBC singers. As a soloist she has sung in most of the major London Concert Halls in oratorio and recital as well as at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and regional opera companies.
